WhiteWave: Capitalizing on ChangingFood Trends
WhiteWave Foods, a plant-based food and beverage company focused on high-growth product categories, is laying the foundation to become a major global food company. The Company has strengthened its leadership in the fast-growing organic and nongenetically modified food (non-GMOs) and beverage category, adding new product lines that target the trend toward healthy eating in the United States. It has also begun a strategy to expand into China, where there is an increasing appetite for dairy among consumers. Based on its previous success in brand extensions, we see WhiteWave putting itself in a strong position to further benefit from these rising trends. Although WhiteWave Foods’ stock price has advanced rapidly since it broke out to new highs on September 8, 2013, we believe there is further long-term upside. We rate WhiteWave Foods as Outperform.
