US Focus Long
The U.S. market shifted into a Rally Attempt this week. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq are both now five days off their most recent bottom, however, a rotation out of Technology has weighed on the Nasdaq. The S&P 500 and Russell are benefitting from the surge in Financials and now, once again, testing resistance near all-time highs. We are looking for a breakout above 2180 on the S&P 500 as well as new quality leadership ideas to take the place of long term large cap Technology winners. This would be enough to shift the market back into a Confirmed Uptrend.

Global Focus Developed Long
Australia’s ASX All-Ordinaries Index gained 3.4% this week,
recovering all of the prior week’s losses and retaking its 40-week
moving average. The index is still in a Downtrend.
Global Focus Emerging Long
Mainland Chinese markets moved higher for another consecutive
week – the second for the Shenzhen and the fifth for the Shanghai.
Volume for the week was the highest in five weeks, helped by
strong Singles Day sales results on Friday. Furthermore, weekly
volume since mid-October has remained above the 52-week
average providing signs of solid accumulation. Despite this,
a surge in volumes has yet to occur, as average volume has
declined on a weekly relative basis since mid-2015. Nonetheless,
markets could drift 5-7% higher before January resistance is
met.
